How many treatments will I need?
Multiple treatments are required due to the complex hair growth cycle. Hair growth occurs in three different phases. During the anagen phase (growth phase), hair is thick and attached to the bulb of the hair follicle. During the catagen phase (transition phase), the hair loosens itself from the hair follicle. During the telogen phase (shedding phase), the hair falls out and the cycle starts again. Your hair continuously moves through each phase. In order to achieve the best results, hair must be treated during the anagen phase while the hair is still attached to the follicle.
At CMA medicine, we accommodate these phases by separating treatments 4-8 weeks apart to treat the hair in the appropriate phase.
