Konika Schallen, MD

Konika Schallen, M.D., founder of CMA, Center for Modern Aesthetic Medicine has been practicing medicine for more than twenty years. She is a visionary dedicated to medical excellence and has merged her academic and private setting background with her global experience to establish CMA Medicine – the most advanced and research-based laser and aesthetic practice in Northeast Florida.

Dr. Schallen discovered her passion for lasers and aesthetic medicine while living in Europe where she earned her Masters in Aesthetic Medicine Certification at the University of Baleares in Mallorca, Spain and has spent the last decade working alongside some of the world’s most respected cosmetic dermatologists and surgeons. She is a distinguished and highly-regarded international educator who has taught aesthetic professionals and lectured around the world in more than 40 countries.

She has served as Global Vice President of Clinical Education for Syneron Candela, the worldwide industry leader in aesthetic lasers and devices. Dr. Schallen currently serves as the Medical Director of the Syneron Candela Institute for Excellence in Boston where she continues her role in research and development to incorporate the newest ideas and cutting-edge technologies into clinical practice for CMA patients and training for other practitioners.

Merging her medical and research experience with her respected, multilingual teaching skills, Dr. Schallen founded CMA to bring the latest and most effective laser applications and related devices to aesthetics of the face and body to her patients. As a highly sought-after speaker and educator, Dr. Schallen continues to train other practitioners in laser application procedures and related aesthetics devices both in Jacksonville and around the world.

The professionals at CMA, under the guidance of Dr. Schallen, provide treatments in skin care, body shaping, and rejuvenation. Her team continuously studies Dr. Schallen’s work and research and also travels to educational forums to study with some of the most well-known educators in their respective fields – bringing the best in medical aesthetics and technology to CMA patients.

Dr. Schallen is an Honors graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Medical School. She previously served on the clinical faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, following completion of her internship in General Surgery and residency in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and currently serves on the medical staff of Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
